Today we had the open house memorial for dad. It was a lot of work getting it done, but was worth it. There were many friends and family members that come over to help us celebrate the life of my father. I must thank the Relief Society of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (the mormon church). They provided food, tables, chairs and support. They made this gathering so much easier to host.
For the folks that could not attend or did not get a chance to see the slideshow I had playing on the television, here it is. This version is high definition with a 16:9 (widescreen) aspect ratio. Please let me know if it does not look right when you view it on your computer and I will see about uploading a 4:3 version. This version includes an instrumental jazz background. You may not have known that my father liked jazz, so hopefully he would have liked this background music. Turn the volume down if it is annoying. One last thing, it took several days to create this video. Mom (and later I, when she got tired) picked out the photos and I scanned them all, added the captions and created the video. I scanned 131 photographs, it might not seem like it when you watch this, but at 18 minutes long I can assure you there are a lot of photos.

I also took quite a few photographs during the open house. Here are some of those:
