Took mom and dad to the gym on Friday morning.  Their trips to the gym these days are more about exercising their mental and social strengths rather than physical ones.  On really good days they may do a small workout, but its good to see that they still look forward to going to the gym to socialize with people they have known for years.

After we got home from the gym, Larry and Diana stopped by to chat for a bit before heading up to LA for their cruise this weekend.  Mom loves when Larry visits.  Those who know him will attest that you cannot help but laugh when in his presence.  Laughing with him not at him of course.  He is just a funny, funny man and one heck of a swell guy to be around.

While Larry and Diana were here, a home health nurse dropped by to speak with dad per doctors orders.  She was a very lovely lady and quite helpful.  She went over all the medicines that dad was prescribed by the hospital physician.  She checked his vitals and everything was looking good.  I took notes on the medicines and typed up instructions for dad to reference.  Some in the morning, some at night, some can’t be taken with others, some need food while others need an empty stomach and so on.

I also took a timeout from the caregiver role and hung out with friends for a couple of hours.  That was nice.  It was a nice little getaway, but I stayed up far too long.  I still had dishes to do and was planning on doing this blog, but by then it was after midnight and I needed to be up at 5 am to go to a temp job.

All in all it was a pretty darn good day.

Well I think that sums up the day.  We shall see what fun stuff tomorrow brings!
