Dad finally got warm enough for the shivering to stop, so I took him down to the pulmonary specialists office. I think he was hoping someone might be able to see him when we got there, but I knew that wasn’t going to happen. The point was to give a live person there a view at someone having a tough time even getting out a full sentence between the huff and puffs. Those damn answering machines.. press 1 for this and press 2 for that. You can never find the darn button to press to actually speak to someone. Anyway, since they had not called him back at all this week, we figured let’s go down as give ’em what for. Mom didn’t want to go, cuz she might have just pissed someone off. The gal at the front desk, who took my father’s call on Monday and said she would call back, explained that the doctor and his nurse has both been out sick this week. She said he was coming into the office in about an hour and she would make sure to speak with him and call dad back in a couple of hours. Dad couldn’t stand any longer and as he went to go sit down, I gave her a please please please call because I don’t want to listen to it if you don’t, sort of look. She understood the look and apologized and said she would call. That was 10:30 this morning. The doctor, himself, called at 8 pm. At least he called. He said he would find an opening on Monday to see dad. Man I hope for dad’s sake and for mom’s that he can find something wrong physically and fix it.
It was cold and rainy here today, so the weather combined with the state my parents were in, they decided to skip the gym today. That was fine. It was a rough morning for them. I, on the other hand, still have shopping to do. I went to the gym first and got in a quick workout after explaining to a couple of the people who my parents socialize with at the gym why they were not there today. The workout was short, but boy was it a workout. I did 3.3 miles on the bike as fast as I could. The first mile was all uphill with up to an 11% grade. After the workout, I scooted my jello legs over to the store and finished up the shopping. Hopefully that will tide us of over for a couple of weeks.
I made a yum-licious dinner tonight. It was pretty much the same dinner I made when Larry, Diana and Jodi were here. Pulled pork sandwiches, a homemade pasta salad concoction, some green beans and cottage cheese. Good stuff Maynard. After dinner, I sat down on the computer for a while and then decided maybe I should take a little nap. Haha.. I used to think it was silly for people to go to bed so early, like 8 or 9 pm, but now I understand it better 🙂 I was having a dream that mom was in and although it was a nice dream and mom looked so healthy and happy, it made me a little sad so I forced myself to wake up. Afterall, I have a blog to write!
Well I think that sums up the day. We shall see what fun stuff tomorrow brings!
